Data Usage Policy

This is a draft policy prepared for review — please have it checked against your organisation’s actual data practices and applicable law before publishing as final.

What data we collect

Fuel the Shift collects data only where you choose to provide it, or as a normal part of running a website:

  • Newsletter signups: your email address, stored so we can send “The Shift Brief” updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Partnership inquiries: your name, organisation, work email, and any message details you submit through the Partner With Us form.
  • Event submissions: event name, host organisation, date, format and description submitted for editorial review via the Dialogue Hub’s “List Your Event” form.
  • Technical data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) generated automatically by visiting the site, used for security and basic traffic analysis.

How we use your data

We use the data above only to: respond to your inquiry or submission; send newsletter updates you’ve opted into; review and, where appropriate, publish submitted events to the Dialogue Hub; and keep the site secure and working correctly. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Third-party services

Some parts of the site rely on third-party services to function:

  • Google reCAPTCHA (where enabled) helps prevent spam submissions on our forms. Google’s own privacy policy governs data it processes for this purpose.
  • ElevenLabs Conversational AI (where enabled) powers the site’s chat assistant. Messages sent to the assistant are processed by ElevenLabs to generate a response.
  • Our email delivery provider is used solely to send newsletter and transactional emails you’ve requested.

How long we keep your data

Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe. Partnership inquiries and event submissions are kept for as long as needed for editorial follow-up, and are periodically reviewed for deletion.
